The following is a sampling of the calls handled by the Geauga County Sheriffâs Office Dec. 26, 2019 through Jan. 2, 2020. In total, the sheriffâs office handled 329 calls during this period.
3:56 p.m., Stafford Road, Auburn. Cleveland PD received a call from a female in Florida who advised she got a text from an unknown person advising her 34-year-old daughter is being beaten, tortured and is bloody and ânot going well.â They also told mother to send money or else her daughter âwill pay one way or another.â Cleveland PD looked up the number and the number the threats came from and got an address is Euclid, which Euclid PD is checking, and this address on Stafford. GCSO to check and notify CPD of findings. Checked Stafford address. House was vacant.
3:19 p.m., Merritt Road, Munson. Male would like to speak with someone in the lobby and turn himself in. Refused to divulge any more information. One male arrested. Report to follow.
1:41 a.m., Hammock Lake Drive, Huntsburg. Caller says she had to put her son out of the house and he is now back with a gas can threatening to burn the house down. He is intoxicated. Male no longer has gas can and is now sitting in car. Car started and his wife is in the car. Male just left. No weapons.
10:58 a.m., Heath Road, Newbury. Mom threw hot coffee on me again. Donât want or need an ambulance. No burn. She gets made and throws things. Females are separated now. Deputy advised. One female arrested.
11:08 p.m., Ravenna Road, Claridon. Female in the ER says she was assaulted by her significant other. She would like to speak to a deputy about pressing charges. Female says she lives in Hiram, but it is Geauga County. Nurse had her confirm the assault occurred in our jurisdiction. Incident occurred on Route 11 in Trumbull County. Advised victim to contact TCSO to file report.
12:33 p.m., Mulberry Road, Munson. Complainant advised someone hacked their teenage daughterâs Huntington Bank account and tried to deposit checks. Complainant further advised no checks cleared, no money lost and account was closed. Complainant requested incident be on file at this time. Advice given.
12:08 p.m., Mayfield Road, Munson. Caller received a threatening phone call, believed to be a scam call. Caller would like to speak with a deputy because she is very distraught. Caller said phone call said her grandson was in jail and needed $3,500 to get him out. Grandson is OK. No money lost. Phone scam.
3:46 p.m., Tavern Road, Troy. Male throwing things in the river. Wearing camo and has a white truck. Male was setting traps for beaver. Had the permit.
11:02 a.m., Rapids Road, Troy. Came home to a bunch of bags of garbage and items in the driveway. Caller thinks it was his daughterâs boyfriend. Boyfriend contacted and advised he needed to return to his girlfriendâs parents and pick up the belongings he dropped off. He said he would be there shortly. Owner of house said he was OK with that.
7:23 p.m., Oakstone Trail, Chardon. Caller says three drones are hovering over her backyard. Callerâs area was checked and deputy checked the bike path area. A faint red dot was traveling east, very high in the air and possibly was a drone, but could not tell what it actually was due to altitude. Possibly also in Lake County. UTL anyone flying a drone.
8:15 p.m., Oakstone Trail, Chardon. Three drones flying over house. Caller is a juvenile. Patrolled area for 20 minutes and callerâs area twice. Did not observe any type of drone activity flying in sky.
2:52 p.m., Old State Road, Hambden. Catalytic converter stolen from an RV stored at Behind the Pines self-storage.
9:48 a.m., Woodiebrook Road, Munson. Caller says yesterday she saw a 10-year-old boy with one of her croquet mallets walking around the property. Boy walked down to a pond on her property and came back without the mallet to her front door. Boy then came to her house and opened her FedEx package and took out the sweatshirt that was inside. She says he walked about 300 yards into the property and left the sweatshirt behind. Caller said today she went down and found the croquet mallet and the sweatshirt. Deputy advised. Report taken.
2:51 p.m., Main Market Road, Parkman. Caller says she came home around an hour ago and all of her boyfriendâs guns are missing. Even the antique he got from his great uncle is missing. She thinks she knows who stole them, either her brother or her niece. Report taken. Owner of firearms not home. Message was left for him to call asap. Under investigation.
12:32 p.m., Main Market Road, Parkman. Theft of antiques. Theft of various silver items from locked display case sometime over the last month. Report taken.
6:46 p.m., Hobart Road, Parkman. Caller receiving threatening phone calls âfrom a nut job.â Threatening to break his arms, knock out teeth and kill caller. Caller just wanted incident report on file that a male threatened him. Advice given.Â

9:37 a.m., Hautala Road, Montville. Meet with caller. She said there is someone that has been living in a tent on her property the past few days. She does not know who is in the tent. Deputy responded. Neighborâs hunting blind . . . on their own property.
